Biography
Dr. David Spruill is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine. He attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History in 1996. He then matriculated to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. After obtaining his Medical Doctorate in 2000, he began his Internal Medicine residency at Tulane. Dr. Spruill completed his residency in June 2003.
He joined the faculty of the Department of Medicine in 2003. As an Assistant Professor in the Section of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Dr. Spruill's primary interest is in the realm of inpatient care. He is a hospitalist at the University Medical Center - New Orleans and devotes a great deal of time to teaching both medical students and residents in the practical and theoretical aspects of clinical medicine. Dr. Spruill has been recognized by the Internal Medicine Residents as Outstanding Faculty in Teaching. His clinical interests are in the area of performance improvement, particularly the development and implementation of clinical pathways.
