Biography

Dr. Bui joined the staff of Ochsner in 2007 and currently serves as the Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery and Program Director for the Neurosurgery Residency Progam.  He currently serves a director on the Board of Directors of Ochsner Health and Co-Director of the Ochsner Neuroscience Institute. He completed his neurosurgical training at SUNY- Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and his fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery from University of Alabama Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.  He has remained clinically very active in neurosurgery with focused practice areas in epilepsy and pediatric neurosurgery - participating in five multi-disciplinary teams. Academically, he remains active teaching medical students and residents. He participates in clinical research and publishes on areas of minimally invasive spine, neurosurgical socioeconomics, and pediatric neurosurgery.
He serves in leadership roles in regional medical organizations including President of the Louisiana Neurosurgical Society. He has served on national neurosurgical organizations and remains involved with international neurosurgical efforts with annual educational and training trips abroad.
