Internal Medicine & Psychiatry Residency - Didactics

At the Tulane Medicine-Psychiatry Combined Program, education is a top priority. Residents are given protected time to attend didactics specific to each specialty.

While rotating on Internal Medicine, residents will attend afternoon case conferences, grand rounds, ICU report, and the ground-breaking didactic sessions known as "Friday School" for interns and "Monday School" for residents. Visit the Internal Medicine website for specific details.

While rotating on Psychiatry, residents will attend weekly Grand Rounds and twice-weekly didactics. Didactics occur Tuesdays in the form of case-based conferences and Friday afternoons. On Friday afternoons, residents attend year-specific courses which include the following: Emergency Psychiatry, Introduction to the DSM-V, Child Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Psychopharmacology, Geriatric Psychiatry, Substance Abuse, Cultural Psychiatry, Introduction to Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Advanced Psychotherapy.
