Biography

Hometown: Tarpon Springs, FL

Career Plans: Pediatric Primary Care, ideally in the New Orleans area!

Why Tulane?  I went to medical school at Tulane and spent 3.5 years in New Orleans before Match Day.  It was obvious from the first month living here that I wanted to stick around full-term.  New Orleans is a city unlike any other in the United States. Like all great cities, there are amazing things about it, and there are terrible things about it.  But no other city has the combination of culture, community, environs, and small-town feel that New Orleans has.  With Tulane, I feel very close to the underrepresented and underserved aspects of New Orleans.

What do you love most about NOLA?  In the past few years the local brewery scene has become a lot more exciting, with lots of microbreweries popping up all around the city! Uptown New Orleans is host to Port Orleans, Zony Mash Brewery (built in an old theatre), Nola Brewery (their sour selection is  unmatched), and my absolute favorite brewery in the city is Miel Brewery. Closer to Mid-City lies Courtyard Brewery (with its massive and eclectic beer selection) and Skeeta Hawk, which is near one of my favorite film theatres in the city, Broad Theater.

Fun Facts:  Before Medical School, I got a Masters in Film and New Media Studies from the University of South Florida, and wrote my master's thesis on contemporary American true crime documentaries.
