Biography
Rafeka Hossain earned her Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Dhaka and a Master of Science in Public Health with a focus on Applied Epidemiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is passionate about translating scientific research to enhance human health. Her current research focus is dedicated to elucidating the nexus between cardiovascular health and bone health. She joins CHOICES as a Scientific Research Analyst III, and is engaged with the STAR-MAP project, which focuses on a novel approach to improve adherence among older hypertensive women and men, and a new project evaluating the role cardiometabolic disease plays on spine health. In addition to future CHOICES collaborations, she is eager to delve into the molecular dynamics underlying the relationship between cardiometabolic disease and bone health.
