Biography
Dr. Gil Hebert has joined Tulane's Section of General Internal Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Obesity Medicine specialist. He attended Wagner College in New York, where he majored in theatre with a concentration in technical scenic design. After returning to New Orleans and working in theatre and film, he shifted his focus to medicine. He completed his medical school prerequisites at Tulane University School of Continuing Studies before earning his medical degree at LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine, where he developed a strong interest in obesity medicine and health disparities during his clinical rotations.
He returned to New Orleans for his Internal Medicine residency at Tulane University, followed by fellowship training in Obesity Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus under the mentorship of Dr. Dan Bessesen and Dr. Adam Gilden. Dr. Hebert has since returned to Tulane University, where he is dedicated to expanding the field of obesity medicine and improving care for patients in the New Orleans community.
