Dr. Megan Flanagan has joined Tulane’s Section of General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Palliative Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Palliative Medicine Specialist. Originally from Illinois, she received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois–Chicago in 2013. After graduation, she joined Teach for America and taught high school biology for two years in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Her passion for education and caring for vulnerable populations brought her to New Orleans to pursue her medical education at Tulane University School of Medicine, where she graduated in 2021. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, followed by a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago. A member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, Dr. Flanagan has been recognized for excellence in medical education, primary care, and creating positive learning environments for trainees. She is thrilled to be in New Orleans—where she feels most at home—and to join the Tulane faculty in serving this special community.
