Biography
Dr. Celeste Newby is an academic hospitalist in the Deming Department of Internal Medicine with primary clinical responsibilities at University Medical Center. She has interests in Health Policy and Advocacy at the local, state, and national levels. She is the faculty advisor for the Pathway to Distinction in Advocacy for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. She is active with several medical societies for health policy work. She is a member of the Health Policy Clinical Practice subcommittee with the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM), Chair of the Health and Public Policy commitee for the Louisiana Chapter of American College of Physicians (ACP), and a member of the Council on Legislation for the Louisiana State Medical Society (LSMS).
