Biography

Shelby was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University before completing a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. Shelby is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Her primary practice is located at East Jefferson General Hospital with Tulane Neurosurgery. Shelby was drawn to neurosurgery for its complexity and the profound, life-changing impact it can have on patients’ neurological function and overall quality of life. As a neurosurgery physician assistant, she combines advanced medical knowledge with hands-on care, collaborating with a highly specialized team to treat intricate brain and spine conditions. The field continues to inspire her every day through its demands for precision, critical thinking, and compassionate teamwork.
