Biography
Since 2005 Dr. Susan Azar, a third generation board certified ophthalmologist, has practiced comprehensive ophthalmology as well as pediatric and adult strabismus. She began her training as an undergraduate at Tulane University and medical school at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Her residency training was completed at UMDNJ Rutgers Medical School in Newark, NJ. She also completed a fellowship in Pediatric and Adult Strabismus at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami.
As the lead surgeon aboard the Mercy Hospital Ship in Liberia, Africa she has experienced a wide variety of complicated cataract and anterior segment surgery.
