Biography
Dr. Leland C. McCluskey Jr. is an orthopaedic surgeon and a fellowship-trained spine surgeon. He specializes in the operative and non-operative treatment of adult Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar spinal disorders ranging from simple degenerative conditions to complex oncologic pathology, neurologic conditions, adult deformity, and traumatic injuries to the spine and spinal cord. He offers individualized treatment options for patients, including fusion, non-fusion and motion-sparing options, minimally-invasive surgical options and the latest robotic and intra-operative navigation technology when appropriate for the patient’s condition.
Dr. McCluskey is a graduate of the University of Georgia and an avid Dawgs fan. He completed medical school at Mercer University. Dr. McCluskey completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency in New Orleans at Tulane University followed by a Spine Surgery Fellowship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. McCluskey is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tulane University, and is a member of the AOA Medical Honor Society, the North American Spine Society (NASS), and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). He lives in New Orleans with his wife (Hillary) and son (Tripp).
Dr. McCluskey sees patients at East Jefferson General Hospital, Tulane Lakeside Hospital, Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine and the VA clinic.
