Biography
Dr. Wendell M.R. Heard received his medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in 2005. After completing his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, an Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery fellowship at Brown University, and a Sports Medicine fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, he returned to New Orleans to become Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedics at Tulane. He was since promoted to Associate Professor.
Dr. Heard is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in General Orthopaedics with a subspecialty in Sports. He is a member of the Tulane Caldwell Society, the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association, the Greater New Orleans Orthopaedic Society, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In addition, he is also on the Research Committee for the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
Dr. Heard practices at the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine, Sports Medicine Plus and Tulane-Lakeside Hospital.
