Marilyn Leif, MD

Marilyn Leif, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Tulane University School of Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine after completing a Master of Science in Anatomy at Tulane University School of Medicine. She also holds dual bachelor's degrees in Biology and Human Nutrition from Kansas State University. Prior to joining the faculty at Tulane, Dr. Leif completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine, a General Surgery internship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and a Diagnostic Radiology residency at Tulane.

Dr. Leif is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care while advancing excellence in diagnostic imaging. She is passionate about medical education and helping train the next generation of radiologists through mentorship and academic instruction.

Her professional interests include neuroradiology, medical education, and clinical research. She has presented research at regional scientific meetings and has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in radiology, surgery, craniofacial surgery, and medical education. Her scholarly work has explored topics including HIV-associated central nervous system imaging, perioperative care, and evidence-based approaches to medical education.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Leif has received numerous honors recognizing her outstanding scholarship, including awards for excellence in anatomy, histology, neuroscience, and overall achievement during her graduate studies at Tulane. She is an active member of the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, and the American Board of Radiology and remains dedicated to advancing the field through education, research, and exceptional patient care.
