Biography

Heather Marshall earned her Bachelor of Science in Cardiopulmonary Care Science from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, in 2010. She brings a wealth of clinical experience, a strong commitment to education, and a passion for helping others succeed in healthcare.

Before joining the Tulane Simulation Center, Heather worked at Ochsner Medical Center, where she served as a Charge Respiratory Therapist, Student and New Hire Preceptor, and Educator for the “Nurses Rock” Orientation program, where she taught newly hired Nurses about the many different oxygen modalities and respiratory equipment that are used at the hospital. Throughout her time at Ochsner, she gained valuable experience working across multiple areas of the hospital, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Emergency Department. These diverse clinical experiences strengthened her ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support patient care, and help prepare healthcare professionals for the challenges of clinical practice.

Heather is passionate about sharing knowledge, supporting professional development, and creating meaningful learning experiences for both patients and colleagues. She believes education is essential to building confidence, improving communication, and promoting safe, effective patient care.

At the Tulane Simulation Center, Heather enjoys contributing her clinical expertise and educational experience to the development of engaging, realistic simulation-based learning opportunities. She is excited to serve as a resource for learners and colleagues while helping foster an environment that encourages teamwork, critical thinking, and continued professional growth.
