Biography
Margaret M. Moore, MD (Meg) attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN as a music major specializing in classical trumpet performance. After college, she performed for a year in London as a soloist with the show blast! and then returned to her home state to attend medical school in Hershey at the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine. Following medical school, Meg entered the active Naval service, completing
a transitional year Internship at the Naval Medical Center San Diego and then spending the next several years on active duty as a Flight Surgeon. While in the Navy, Meg participated in humanitarian missions in the Western Pacific and deployed multiple times in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. Her experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan led her ultimately to pursue a career in Trauma Surgery. She completed her Residency in General Surgery at Lehigh Valley Health Network in her hometown of Allentown, PA prior to moving to New Orleans, where she recently completed Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at LSU. She joined the Tulane Faculty in the Summer of 2015.
Meg is an avid snowboarder and bicycle racer and spends her free time in New Orleans working closely with the New Orleans Bicycle Club to support and develop the sport of organized women’s cycling in the area.

Dr. Meg Moore is LSU Department of Surgery faculty and adjunct faculty within the Tulane Department of Surgery. She currently serves as the Medical Director for the Tulane Trauma education and in this capacity oversees the execution of ATLS courses and plans the annual Norman McSwain EMS Trauma Conference each Fall.
