Biography
Michael T. Weaver, MD, FACS, is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience specializing in advanced heart and thoracic surgical care. He focuses on heart valve and heart bypass surgery, treatment of coronary artery disease and thoracic cancer.
Dr. Weaver earned his undergraduate degree from Tulane University before receiving his medical degree from Louisiana State University. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery through LSU Affiliated Hospitals, followed by a fellowship in cardiopulmonary surgery at Oregon Health & Science University. He is board certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
Throughout his career, Dr. Weaver has been recognized for his commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered surgical care while advancing the field of cardiothoracic surgery through education and mentorship. In addition to his clinical practice, he serves as an adjunct assistant professor of clinical surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine, helping train the next generation of surgeons and healthcare professionals.
