Biography
Dr. Jorge Balzan Perez is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Most recently, he served as a Cardiothoracic Transplant Clinical Associate Staff member in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
He completed advanced fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery and an Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Support, and Heart/ Lung Transplantation fellowship at Cleveland Clinic, and his practice spans complex adult cardiac surgery, mechanical circulatory support, and heart and lung transplantation. Before relocating to the United States, he practiced independently as a cardiac, trauma, and vascular surgeon in Venezuela and served as Director of the Cardiovascular Surgery Section of the Venezuelan Society of Surgery.
