Biography

Kevin Harrell, MD was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and pursued undergraduate studies in Chemistry and Music at Emory University. He remained at Emory for medical school and completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. While in residency and fellowship, he pursued trauma outcomes and process improvement research with numerous publications and presentations, including a multicenter study on traumatic abdominal wall hernias. Kevin completed his Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Colorado and Denver Health Medical Center and is thrilled to be joining the faculty at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the division of Trauma, Acute Care, and Critical Care Surgery. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife, a professional flutist, and two dogs. He is a passionate reader, bassoonist, traveler, and loves spending time outdoors.
