Aymon Ali, MD, MSc

Dr. Aymon Ali is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at Tulane University School of Medicine and the Director of the Urologic Engineering Research Laboratory. He earned his medical degree from Khyber Medical University, Pakistan. He completed his urology residency training at the University of Ottawa, Canada, followed by fellowship training in stone disease, robotics, and minimally invasive surgery at the University of California, Irvine. He completed a Master of Science degree in translational surgical research at Western University, Canada.

Dr. Ali’s primary clinical interests include complex stone disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and upper tract urinary obstruction. He is recognized for bringing engineering rigor to surgical practice, with a research program built around bench-to-bedside research and technological advancement. His research work spans tissue bioengineering and regenerative medicine in urology, the science of surgical force, the development of novel pharmacologic agents, and the development of next-generation urologic surgical instruments.
