Biography

Dr. Mire is a licensed clinical psychologist with board certification in forensic psychology, one of the American Board of Professional Psychology’s 15 specialty practice areas. Dr. Mire’s primary area of clinical and forensic practice is the assessment of criminal defendants for the courts where she routinely conducts evaluations for competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility (sanity at the time), and non-capital sentencing/mitigation. Dr. Mire has extensive expertise in the forensic assessment of PTSD and complex trauma and conducts trauma-informed forensic evaluations. Through her work for the courts, Tulane, and through Louisiana’s maximum security forensic hospital, Dr. Mire also frequently conducts assessments of violence risk in adults. 

Dr. Mire’s research interests are in the assessment of violence risk in mentally ill defendants on conditional release/probation and factors related to competency to stand trial and competency restoration. 

Dr. Mire is also the founder of Tulane’s Forensic Psychology Training program and serves as the Director of Forensic Training. She regularly supervises forensic psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows who are interested in achieving forensic board certification. Dr. Mire is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist.
