Biography
Dr. Rade N. Pejic serves as Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine and holds the rank of Associate Professor. A respected leader in medical education and clinical care, he previously served as Program Director of the East Jefferson General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in Metairie, Louisiana, and as Family Medicine Clerkship Director at Tulane. For over a decade, he led clinical operations at the Tulane Multispecialty Clinic at Uptown Square.
A triple alumnus of Tulane University, Dr. Pejic earned his undergraduate degree (BS Cell & Molecular Biology-1997), medical degree (MD-2001), and Master of Medical Management (MMM-2009) from Tulane. He graduated from medical school with election to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. He completed his family medicine residency at UCLA-Santa Monica Medical Center (2004) and pursued an academic fellowship in Faculty Development at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2006).
Dr. Pejic’s commitment to teaching has been recognized with multiple Preceptor of the Year honors from medical students. He has also been repeatedly named one of New Orleans’ “Top Doctors” by Castle Connolly. His diverse clinical background spans emergency care, inpatient medicine, and community-based practice, including work with in rural, urban, and suburban settings. He enjoys caring for patients of all ages and performing minor office procedures.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Pejic is a devoted husband and father, an avid electric bass guitarist, and a passionate—though modest—golfer.
