Naomi Karlen, MD

Dr. Karlen received her undergraduate degree at the University of California, San Diego with a major in microbiology and minor in Japanese Studies. She attended medical school at the John A. Burns School of medicine in her hometown of Honolulu and then completed residency at Tulane University. She joined the Section of General Internal Medicine as a clinical instructor of medicine in 2015 and is currently an academic outpatient attending at the academic Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System primary care clinic. She enjoys taking part in the residency's primary care leadership team and is interested in quality improvement, graduate medical education curriculum development, and looking at how systems of care impact patients.
