Laptop computers are needed to take computer based exams using either ExamSoft or the NBME (Med Pharm final exam) software. To work properly, laptops should meet the following minimal specifications:
PC:
Windows 7 or newer
4GB RAM (2GB minimum)
1GB free disk space for ExamSoft SofTest (for graduate block exams)
Windows .Net 4 framework
Internet Explorer 9
13-15” display at 1024x768 resolution or higher
Built-in Ethernet (or Ethernet over USB adapter)
Built-in WiFi (must be 802.1b/g/n compliant)
Mac:
Intel Mac with at least 10.6.x (Snow Leopard), OS 10.5 and earlier versions are not supported.

We do not recommend using netbooks. Students can purchase Apple and Dell computers through the Tulane Technology Connection on the Uptown campus. Software, including Microsoft Windows upgrades can also be purchased online through E-Academy with a student email and password.
