Biography

Dr. Sabah Ali is a resident at Tulane University School of Medicine. Originally from Deerfield Beach, Florida, she earned her undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University before receiving her medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Throughout residency, Dr. Ali is focused on developing the clinical judgment, technical expertise, and efficiency needed for a successful career in private practice. She values the broad range of complex cases and hands-on learning opportunities available at Tulane, which have allowed her to build confidence while working alongside supportive faculty and fellow residents. She is particularly passionate about continually refining her procedural skills and providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient.

Dr. Ali chose Tulane because of its outstanding clinical training, early exposure to challenging cases, and commitment to resident education. As a self-directed learner, she appreciated the flexibility to tailor her training while learning from experienced faculty in a collaborative environment. During her intern year, she developed a strong interest in point-of-care ultrasound and has enjoyed applying those skills both inside and outside of the operating room to enhance patient care. She also values Tulane's leadership in advocacy for both patients and the anesthesiology profession. One of the highlights of her residency has been attending the American Society of Anesthesiologists Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C., where she met with lawmakers to advocate for policies affecting patients and the specialty.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ali enjoys staying active by playing pickleball with her co-residents, spending time with friends, and exploring New Orleans' renowned restaurant scene. She especially loves the city's incredible food, vibrant culture, and the unforgettable energy of Mardi Gras, which she enjoys celebrating with friends and colleagues each year. Whether competing in a friendly pickleball match or discovering a new local restaurant, she values the strong sense of camaraderie within the residency program and appreciates the balance between rigorous clinical training and an engaging life outside the hospital.
