Biography

Dr. Melendez-Ramirez is a board-certified endocrinologist practicing at the South Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS) in New Orleans. She currently serves as the Endocrinology Section Chief at the New Orleans VA and holds an academic appointment as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Tulane University School of Medicine.

Dr. Melendez-Ramirez earned her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, followed by a fellowship in Endocrinology at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.

Her clinical interests include the prevention and treatment of diabetes, as well as lower extremity amputation prevention in patients with diabetes and obesity.
