Biography
Dr. Terry Cummings is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the Tulane University School of Medicine. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Pennsylvania where she studied Biochemistry. Dr. Cummings matriculated to Tulane University Health Sciences Center where she received her Medical Doctorate. She remained at Tulane as a resident and Chief Resident in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. In 1993, following her residency, Dr. Cummings became Program Director of the Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency program until 2003 when she became the Senior Advisor.
Dr. Cummings is active clinically seeing patients of all ages in the Uptown Family Health Center. She is active in the pediatric and medicine teaching programs for the medical students and residents, teaching them on the wards and in her clinic. Her clinical interests are in the areas of eating disorders, sickle cell anemia, and breastfeeding.
