Biography

Originally from New Mexico, Dr. Barr received her bachelor’s degree in studies of Biology and Psychology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque prior to enrolling at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine class of 2012. Her studies later brought her to Louisiana where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine in 2015.  Dr. Meredith Barr joined the Section of General Internal Medicine in 2015 as an Academic Hospitalist at the SE Louisiana Veterans Health Care System where she participates in clinical education of both medical students and resident providers with particular interest in clinical care and quality improvement. She is a member of the Quality Council and instructor in the patient-safety simulation training curriculum and residency firm quality improvement project mentor.
