Biography
Years at Tulane:
Since 2015
Dr. Khunkhun is board certified and completed triple board training in psychiatry, child psychiatry, and pediatrics at Tulane University School of Medicine. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the College of Holy Cross in Massachusetts and completed medical school at Ross University School of Medicine. He worked for two years at Mercy Behavioral Health in Pittsburgh before returning to Tulane in 2015 to found a Day Treatment for children in New Orleans.
Dr. Khunkhun is interested in providing and promoting mental health care in different environments. He serves as the faculty coordinator for section of Child Psychiatry. He also is on the core Wellness Committee for the School of Medicine.
Recently, Dr. Khunkhun has joined the Systems of Committee Care committee in AACAP and is interested in spreading this knowledge to other psychiatrists across the country.

Dr. Khunkhun also has experience working as a consulting psychiatrist in a family health center. His other interest is in interpersonal communication and professionalism in regards to the therapeutic milieu, as well as with trainees rotating in different specialties to further enhance patient care.
Recently, Dr. Khunkhun has become interested in expanding the continuum of care in New Orleans.
