Trained as a pediatrician and child and adolescent psychiatrist, Dr. Gleason's academic interests focus on infant & early childhood mental health, early identification of mental health concerns, mental health in high-risk young children, and the integration of mental health services into primary care through consultative approaches. She considers herself fortunate to work with two teams providing early childhood mental health consultation programs in Louisiana (Tulane.edu\som\tecc; LouisianaLAUNCH.org).

Training and education are central to Dr. Gleason's role.  She supervises medical students, residents, and fellows in primary care and early childhood mental health clinical settings, and has had leadership roles in child psychiatry and triple board residency training for the last 10 years.
