Biography

Dr. Harsh Patel completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine, where he served as a chief fellow running UMC Tumor Board. Post fellowship, he has taken a position at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System, where he will continue to mentor and teach fellows, residents, medical students.  He previously served as a Clinical Instructor and Hospitalist at Tulane.

Dr. Patel received his medical degree from St. George’s University and holds a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Medical City Fort Worth, where he also served on several hospital committees, including the Ethics and Research Committees.

His clinical and research interests include lung nodule evaluation, point of care ultrasound, and quality improvement in critical care. Dr. Patel has presented his work at national conferences including the American Thoracic Society and CHEST, and has been published in peer-reviewed journals.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys travel, SCUBA diving, soccer, and culinary arts.
