Biography
Dr. Rahul Kamat first moved to New Orleans in 2014 for a dual residency program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC-NO). He enjoyed living in the city so much he chose to stay for his fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at Tulane University and now works at as attending physician at University Medical Center New Orleans (UMCNO).
Dr. Kamat's research interests include lung nodules, the use of ultrasound in critical care, and interventional pulmonology. He also is very interested in academic medicine and training the next generation of residents and fellows. He is board certified/eligible in Medicine, Pediatrics, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine.
