Biography

Rihana Galloway-Dawkins is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee and moved to New Orleans in 2001 to attend Loyola University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. She went on to graduate from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans School of Nursing in 2008. After her graduation, Rihana began working as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department caring for patients of all ages with a variety of health conditions and did so for more than a decade. She joined the Tulane University School of Medicine, Sickle Cell Center of Southern Louisiana in January 2021. It is her goal to collaborate with other professionals to improve the care of individuals diagnosed with sickle cell through advocacy and teaching.
