Dr. Steiner received his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. He completed his residency in general surgery at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans. Following his general surgery residency, Dr. Steiner completed fellowships in ECMO at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation and Pediatric Surgery at University of Tennessee in Memphis. Dr. Steiner is board certified by the American Board of Surgery with Special Qualifications in Pediatric Surgery. He is full-time academic faculty at Tulane University School of Medicine. As the pediatric surgeon in the Department of Surgery, he is responsible for resident instruction in the clinical and academic aspects of pediatric surgery, overseeing the 3rd year Tulane surgery residents who rotate on the pediatric surgical service at Children’s Hospital in New
Orleans. Dr. Steiner is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association as well as many local and national medical societies.
