Biography

Dr. Diala Khirfan, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tulane University Medical Center. She specializes in caring for patients with kidney transplants, and double organ transplants involving the kidney. She also evaluates patients with chronic kidney disease for transplant candidacy.

Dr. Khirfan received her medical degree from Jordan University of Science and technology. She completed her internal medicine residency at Hamad Medical Corporation, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. From there, she joined Louisiana State University for General Nephrology Fellowship. Subsequently, she moved to University of Alabama at Birmingham for Transplant Nephrology Fellowship where she received extensive training in caring for transplant patients and complications associated with transplant. Dr. Khirfan is also an active member of several kidney and transplant societies.
