Bryan Tassin

Biography

Bryan Tassin is a Biomedical Engineer at the Tulane National Primate Research Center and a member of the Tulane University School of Medicine research community. He specializes in aerobiology and microbiology, with hands-on expertise in operating advanced laboratory equipment, conducting experiments in BSL-2 and BSL-3 containment facilities, and managing multidisciplinary research projects.

His work supports TUCAiTS’s mission by applying engineering and biological sciences to study airborne infection and transmission, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and translating complex datasets into actionable insights that advance scientific discovery.

Prior to joining Tulane, Bryan served as a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Engineer at Ochsner Health, where he trained clinical staff, supported patients, and maintained life-sustaining cardiac devices. His background also includes experience in medical equipment calibration, hospital-based patient support, and transcription for scientific and educational content.

Bryan earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering with a minor in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University (LSU). He holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and SRA clearance for Select Agent work, along with extensive training in computational modeling, laboratory techniques, and medical device systems.
