Biography
Dr. Ahmed Moustafa is a Research Instructor of Medicine at the Tulane Center for Aging, Tulane University School of Medicine. He received his PhD in Biomedical Science (Molecular Oncology) through a joint program between Tulane University and Helwan University in 2016, after earning a Master of Biotechnology from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy. Dr. Moustafa completed multiple postdoctoral trainings at Tulane in structural and cellular biology, urology, and aging research before joining the faculty in 2024.
His research focuses on molecular oncology, aging biology, prostate cancer progression, exosome biology, and spatial multiomics technologies. He currently leads wet-lab operations for the Tulane Spatial Multiomics Core and contributes to genomics and bioinformatics initiatives supporting translational research. Dr. Moustafa has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations in cancer biology and regenerative medicine. In addition to his research activities, he has more than 14 years of teaching and mentoring experience in genetics, molecular biology, oncology, and biomedical sciences.
